It is one thing to praise discipline, and another to submit to it.

-Cervantes

I came across this while checking my email this morning. It’s true. It’s easy to talk the talk, but walking the walk? If you want to be a part of the top 20% of the top 20%, you have to put the skills you know, the skills you’ve read, listened to, and sat through classes for into practice. This applies no matter what you do. If you want to be excellent, it's the only way to make it happen.

The simplest way to make an impact on your life short term and long term is to track your goals starting today. Figure out what the end result you want in your personal, professional and $$$ life, and WRITE IT DOWN. Then write down all the steps you need to take to get there. This part is REALLY important. Make little goals that are all steps towards your master goal. This is known as “chunking”. You break up BIG goals into smaller, more manageable “chunks” so that they’re easier to achieve!

Make realistic goals, and make stretch goals. Then stay disciplined enough to keep writing them down, to use this information as your own personal roadmap to success.
