Before now, about the only famous person to come out of Davison, Michigan is lighting rod poster child Michael Moore. Not anymore. Coming out of the depths of Genesse County, Chiodos is a band making major chart noise as the band prepares to release their upcoming album.

The band’s mixture of melodic alt-rock fused with moments of sizzling riffs have given Chiodos some buzz over the past year. The band’s last record All’s Well That Ends Well mixed their blend of epic sounding emo and horror book themes gave the band some significant buzz on last year’s Warped Tour date. If you were at the show in Detroit, the Hurley stage where the band played saw the biggest crowd that stage saw all day.

Through equally grandiose song titles such as “Baby, You Wouldn’t Last a Minute in This Creek” and “One Day Women Will All Become Monsters,” the band peppers moments of hardcore thrash (courtesy of the dual guitar attack of Pat McManaman and Jason Hale), and a healthy dose of eerie keyboard work from Bradley Bell. The keyboards actually prove to be the unsung hero of the Ends Well album. Meanwhile, lead singer Craig Owens soars throughout most of the album with his screams, and balances that with strong lyrics.

All’s Well That Ends Well became the star of indie Equal Vision Records, where the album sold over 70,000 records (exceptional for a first time indie label band). Equal Vision even saw the band crack into the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart, with one week sales last month of 6,000. The band is gearing up for a mid-summer 2007 release of their next album, which could be the album that breaks them into the charts in a big way.

Chiodos recently wrapped up a tour full of drama with Atreyu in one corner and From First To Last in the other corner, and continued to impress. The band will be heading out on the Taste of Chaos 2007 tour, with headliners 30 Seconds to Mars and the return of The Used.  From there, who knows? Perhaps Davison can be home as the new home of punk and emo. But for Chiodos, the band is looking to expand their fever pitch of support well beyond Michigan and the Midwest, and hopefully headline tours like Taste of Chaos one of these days.

Chiodos will be a part of the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour, which will be heading to Cobo Arena on Saturday, March 31st. Tickets are on sale now.
