Bringing their brand of honest rock to the mass of humanity better known as Southern California, Texture is a four piece band much in the vein of modern rock heavyweights of today and yesterday.
Founded in 2002, Texture has been working their way through the L.A. rock scene and providing listeners with a melodic and infectious sound.
Led by singer Bill Bryan and guitarist Allen Moreno, Texture’s sound provides a steady and time tested approach on their 6 song, self titled EP. Obvious influences that come to mind are 90’s modern rock stars Collective Soul, and flashes of U2 also work their way through the music. On tracks like “Wilmington”, those U2 influences can be heard within the clean guitar work. The band has a very radio friendly sound, especially on tracks like the highly enjoyable “Letting Go”, and the early-era-Radiohead meets Fuel sounding “What You Get”, which the band released as a single earlier this year. With their influences in mid-90’s modern rock, the group keeps the sound modern enough that people don't have the chance to say the band is dated. They are working their way through the L.A. music scene as many bands do; through constant internet promotion and the beacon of all up and coming bands; MySpace. The group has even starred in local reality television shows, which never hurts exposure. The band is spending time right now playing gigs in the L.A. area, and is planning on taking their show through the U.S. in the next year. We will let you know if they plan on making it to the Detroit area. Texture will also be working on their first full-length record, due out on indie label Vital Recordings at some point next year. For now, their self titled debut EP is a good start. MySpace.com/textureband |
