She Said Yes is a fist clenched,, straight ahead, no flash, no flare, no excuses hard rock/metal band from Detroit. SSY does not rap or have a DJ. Hard hitting drums with bottom-heavy bass behind, pushing thick guitars and vocals to the fore front. With influences like Sick Of It All, Black Label Society, Soundgarden, Helmet, Black Sabbath, and Slayer...It's no wonder SSY only wants to drink their weight in beer and tour through the states in the back of a van!!!

She Said Yes is a fresh face on the indie-metal scene, that isn’t your run-of-the-mill local bar band. They’re a heavy metal powerhouse that I’d recommend without reservation. I had the chance to go see the band at The Berkley Front last Saturday night and found a whole new respect for people that play and especially sing heavy metal songs. I am not particularly a metal fan, but these guys were quite good. For those of you that dig the metal scene, they sound a little bit like Lamb of God.

The band line-up crushes with Graham on vocals, Dean and Justin on guitars & vocals, Al on bass with Rob on drums. Their sound is super tight, and their raw emotion doesn’t come at the cost of technical proficiency.

Not to single out one person in the band, but Graham’s vocals possess the same quality as the lead singer of Disturbed before throat surgery, - raw charisma and anger, only better. I just wondered how he still had a voice afterthe performance.

If you appreciate a raw, savage sound than definitely check out these locals. She Said Yes has a demo CD out with 3 of their songs on it, while they put the finishing touches on their first full-fledge release in the studio.

Expect great things from She Said Yes. Don’t forget that local music can be better than what you hear on the radio. There’s nothing like getting behind a band before they bust out. Check these guys out live, and also check out their website for pics, updates, and concert dates @ www.myspace.com/SHESAIDYESDETROIT!
