I Think...

In the interest of jump starting the sports coverage on Detroit Buzz, I’ve been tapped to create that which has not yet been created, to breathe life into that which previously had none. So who am I? Hi, My name’s Jeff and I’m a sports addict. But what am I all about? I’m just a guy who loves sports and is willing to give you my opinion about it, whether you like it or not. Telling you anymore than that right now would just be wasting your time. Plus, I need to give you a reason to come back to the Buzz every week for another fix. But, just so you know where I’m coming from, here are a few things about the sports world that I think…

I think the Red Wings and Pistons will both win Championships this year.
I think Opening Day should be a holiday and you should be allowed to take the day off work if you want to.
I think Barry Bonds really believes he hasn’t done anything wrong.
I think a NHL playoff game is more exciting than a NBA playoff game.
I think the Lions will win less than eight games in 2006.
I think Matt Millen is the worst General Manager of a sports franchise ever, and Theo Epstein is the best.
I think Mel Kiper’s hair looks like the U of M helmet.
I think I will never like NASCAR, unless I’m the one driving.
I think Joey Harrington will be in a Superbowl before the Lions.
I think Chauncey Billups is the best point guard in the NBA right now, but Kobe Bryant will win MVP.
I think the NHL should trim about 10 teams from the league – and put Detroit in the Eastern Conference so we can watch some Original Six matchups.
I think that come September, fantasy football will consume more of my time than anything else in my life.
I think Ben Wallace should stop whining to Mitch Albom about his future – and just resign his contract with the Pistons.
I think Jon Kitna will be the starting QB for the Lions in Week 1.
I think the Michigan Wolverines won’t win another national title with Lloyd Carr at Head Coach, but maybe as Athletic Director.
I think utilizing the shootout as a way to end tied hockey games was the best idea the NHL has had to increase interest in the sport.
I think Michigan State fans need to give up hope of a Rose Bowl season - start dreaming about the Motor City Bowl, if you're lucky.
I think saying "The” Ohio State University is like trying to church up a trailer park.

I think this is going to be fun.
