The Jonna family has a history in SouthEast Michigan as being "The" wine merchants, starting such Michigan wine staples as Merchants of Vino and Merchant's Fine Wine. Kristin Jonna's newest venture is the trendy and classy Vinotecca. Vinotecca has an impressive tapas menu, and a great wine selection. Make sure to visit their retail cellar, and take a bottle home with you, OR go to one of their great wine tasting events. They are just making decisions on their new wine list as well, so there will be even more great wines to choose from. This great destination spot will soon be followed by Vinology in Ann Arbor. Vinology is slated to seat 200 people, and will offer a much more extensive food menu. Clear your calendars, because on Wednesday, April 12th Vinotecca will be having its One-Year Anniversary Bash!!! Tickets ($20) are available in advance, and proceeds will go to benefit The Oakland Pet Fund and the Royal Oak Animal Shelter. Reservations are recommended. For more information call 248-544-6256, or email info@vinotecca.com. The Oakland Pet Fund is a great cause, and its goal is to make Oakland County Michigan a nationally-recognized model of “no more homeless pets.” They seek to achieve this by funding and supporting outstanding humane services and programs that seek to improve the welfare of homeless pets by finding permanent and/or foster homes and ending unnecessary suffering and euthanasia of unwanted and abandoned companion animals. Working in collaboration with local animal control organizations, shelters, rescue groups, governments and volunteers, their goal is to place Oakland County at the forefront of humane efforts in Michigan and the United States.
