Developer: Genuine Games
This shooter opens with Curtis Jackson’s (50 Cent) own life experience played out in the first level taking nine shots to the body. The story line seems to be that of revenge from the opening level to the final scene. The Mature rating is certainly evident with swearing in almost every action scene; it’s almost funny to hear how much can be packed into one game. The counter-kill feature was cool; once you get close to an enemy you can press the Square Button to perform a special kill sequence against your opponent. More advanced counter-kills can also be purchased from Bugs at the Movie Theater as the game progresses. The whole ability to kill someone was a challenge overall, enemies move extremely fast and the movements to shoot them will allow you to unload every ammo clip you find. If you have the patience to put the reticule on your enemies face you can blow it clean off with a single shot, and a great slow-mo kill sequence. Again, be patient as the camera panning is slow and 50 Cent is slower than every enemy he faces. The game has 10 levels; each level unlocks special features and allows you the opportunity to earn money. With that money you can buy music tracks from the G-Unit Crew and videos to be played during the game. These options can be accessed from the Pause option under Entertainment. When you’re back in 50 Cent’s apartment you can also go in front of the TV and watch Formula 50 (50’s vitamin water) commercials, some trailers for 50’s movie, and some interviews with both 50 Cent and Tony Yayo. I must say before even starting to play this game and then throughout, 50 Cent is involved with everything…period! Regardless what your opinion of him is, this game is just one additional extension for 50 to take advantage of every opportunity that awaits him. I give 50 CENT: Bulletproof a solid B or B-. If you like shooters, this is worth a rent or a buy. If you are a 50 Cent / G-Unit fan, then I’d definitely suggest adding this to your game collection. |
