Progessive Chiropractic: An Aptly-Named Business Progressive Chiropractic opened its doors on April 19, 2005. It took over occupancy from Hofmann Center for Chiropractic. The business is one building away from some of the newly built condominiums being erected all over the city of Royal Oak. It is just outside of downtown Royal Oak, with all its great bars, coffee shops, restaurants and unique shops. It is a mere mile away from The Main Art Theater. Finally, it is very nearby to Nutri-Foods, a wonderful health food store carrying many organic and vegetarian products, including frozen meals, snacks, vitamins and beauty care products. It's a great location, and Progressive Chiropractic fits in nicely. It matches the mood of improvement permeating Royal Oak. The staff is young, allowing the business to be perceived as somewhat trendy. But they are experienced enough to be reliable and enduring. Progressive Chiropractic is operated by Mike Paonessa (Puh-ness-uh), D.C., and John Grgicak (ger-guh-check), D.C. The two chiropractors have a combined total experience of nearly 12 years. Dr. Paonessa previously practiced at Mason Chiropractic in Fraser. Dr. Grgicak previously practiced at BMB Chiropractic in Sterling Heights. If you already participate in regular chiropractic care, you know its many benefits. If not, let it be known that regular chiropractic care helps in preventing pain and illness, can aid in stress and tension relief and is a strong component in maintaining overall health. A great partner in chiropractic is massage. Thankfully, Progessive Chiropractic offers this service as well, with an experienced masseuse on-staff. They also offer spa services including facials and body wraps. The services can be combined into packages, and would make a great gift for the holidays or any time. Progressive Chiropractic is also affiliated with a yoga facility. There are plans to offer a yoga class with the chiropractic and spa services. However, a referral is currently available. The center also provides nutritional products such as vitamins, muscle products and pain relief supplements. Counseling on these products is readily available. Chiropractic pillows for various degrees of back and neck support can be purchased on-site. Progressive Chiropractic accepts all insurances and will advise of coverage prior to performing any services. Financial aid is available as well as discounts when extended visits are paid for together in advance. This includes their "year of care" program. A complete exam will be performed during an initial visit. This exam includes computerized nerve testing, range of motion analysis, orthopedic tests and x-rays. All tests are performed and analyzed on-site. Progressive Chiropractic offers many different adjustment types and can perform these various techniques on patients as young as newborn infants and on those as active as professional athletes. They offer a friendly and knowledgeable staff. In addition to the doctors, the office is fortunate to have Shalu Zuger (zoo-ger) on board. Shalu acts as receptionist and assistant to the doctors and is always pleasant and helpful. Progressive Chiropractic is continually expanding to provide better service. I have been a patient with them since their inception and look forward to continuing to benefit from their services. The entire staff is extremely personable and they make it a joy to be there. I look forward to my visits not only for how good an adjustment makes me feel but also because of the wonderful staff. I always leave smiling and feeling renewed. Please visit Progressive Chiropractic. Get an adjustment, and maybe a massage. Then head out, feeling rejuvenated, ready to conquer the town. Start with some holiday shopping at Borders or Funky 7. Take in an indy flick at Main Art. Grab a meal and drinks at one of the many great restaurants in downtown Royal Oak. Stop by Starbucks or Caribou (if you want a more casual atmosphere) for coffee and dessert. Or head to Nutri-Foods and stock up on healthy eats and goods. Whatever you do, you’ll be feeling great from having visited Progressive Chiropractic. Progressive Chiropractic
