The following artists have been recently added to or updated on Auralgasms.com. This is an exciting local Detroit website that is internationally known for breaking exciting indie and alternative rock artists. Their purpose is to provide music lovers a venue for discovering new local, national and international artists that they might have otherwise never heard of. The Auralgasms artists are categorized into Genres such as Alternative Rock, Brit Pop, Dream Pop, and Singer-Songwriters. Genres help you find artists according to your musical preferences.
Ether Aura is a Detroit area Dreampop/Shoegaze group schooled in the asthetics of bands such as Slowdive and Curve. The band features guitarist Tony Hamera and drummer William King of Caelum Bliss and Deathgirl.com. Ex-Sweatysuedelips bassist Brett Haupt and the vocals of Kate Hinote round out the quartet. Their debut CD, Crash, can best be described as an eclectic blend of early 90's shoegaze, dark alt-country, dream pop, and garage rock. The record is highlighted by the fuzzed-out bliss of About You, All Doves Grey and the poppier vibe of 6 Days Yesterday.
The ever-evolving English duo has hit their creative stride on their 3rd full length CD. Supernature finds the band moving further away from the downtempo Trip-hop vibe they forged on their debut, Lovely Head. Ultra-cool, Electro-Glam anthems such as Ooh-La-Laand Satin Chic are among the standouts.
This San Francisco band made quite a splash with their self-titled debut record in 2001. Their sound was based on the 90's UK rock of Jesus and Mary Chain, Ride, and The Stone Roses. By the time their third album, Howl was released, their sound had drastically changed to an Acoustic Blues vibe. The band is currently on tour with former Ride frontman, Mark Gardener. Check out Devil's Waitin and Promise
There I Go Daydreamer is the long-awaited third full-length from this Tallahassee, FL darkwave band. Coming 4 years after Apart, the new record is pure Dreampop bliss. Pieces is the record's first single.
