Motor City Makeover
Which should be subtitled: HURRY UP AND CLEAN THE CITY BEFORE EVERYONE SHOWS UP!!!As part of the Kilpatrick Administration's KIDS, COPS, CLEAN initiative, the City launched a comprehensive and sustained cleanup effort called Motor City Makeover. The annual cleanup and beautification effort takes place on every Saturday in May, excluding May 28 because of the Memorial Day weekend. How can you help make the cleanup and beautification effort a success? By participating. Everyone - including residents, businesses, schools and faith-based organizations - is encouraged to volunteer to help make Detroit beautiful and make it last. To volunteer for MOTOR CITY MAKEOVER, call (313) 224-4415 or register online. INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS To volunteer as an individual, click here To register a volunteer from any of the Neighborhood City Halls, click here If you have registered as an individual before and your record needs to be updated, call the Volunteer Office at (313) 224-4415. ORGANIZATION VOLUNTEERS To register an organization, click here If the organization was registered before and the record needs to be updated, call the Volunteer Office at (313) 224-4415. Personally, I wish this would occur every week, of every year, not just when the All Star Game and the Super Bowl comes to town. What about Bob. Bob Waltenspiel genuinely cares about the city, and is interested in your ideas on how to make things better in Detroit. Send any communications to him at bob@waltenspiel.com. |
