Do you like Velvet? Do you like Elvis? Then you’ll love Velvet Elvis! Okay, so that’s not necessarily true. But if you like funk, you should. No, I don’t mean funk like stinky feet. But that couldn’t hurt. I mean funk music like George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic, James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, Prince, Morris Day and the Time, Kool and The Gang and even The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Velvet Elvis is Velvet Cornelius Patrick Swayze III, Professor Gorgeous and Nappy Jones, JR303. They are a Michigan-based band. They site the hottest ladies on the planet, beer, Swiss Cake Rolls, Conway Twitty’s hair, White Castle and strip clubs amongst their influences. I think they are funktastic.
