The old school NYC
hardcore band Madball returns to Detroit a year after their last show
with Terror. The band is out in support of their Infiltrate
The System album. Released last year, System
keeps the bands pounding riffs with lead singer Freddy Cricien laying
down the vocals. System is the follow up to the killer
2005 record, Legacy, in which the band regrouped after
a short hiatus.
The band originated in
1988, and paved the way for countless numbers of hardcore bands
throughout the years. The band is a cornerstone in the genre of
hardcore and draws upon metal, thrash and punk for their blend of
music. If you want to see where groups like Hatebreed learned their
skill from, look no farther than Madball. The current tour lasts through May 15th before the band heads to Europe for summer festivals most of June. Also, along on this tour are resurgent metalcore band Shai Hulud. Yeah, the band took their name from the movie Dune but the riffs will leave more of an lasting impression than that movie did. What was that all about again? Anyways, Hulud will be releasing their new album later this month on Metal Blade records. The bill also includes M.O.D. and the Bitter End. Tickets are $12 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com. Additional dates can be found at www.madballnyhc.com. . |
