The festival will take place, as always at The Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak, 118 N. Main Street, Royal Oak, MI 48067. Presale tickets are available for $8 at www.myspace.com/mittenmovieproject. Tickets at the door are $10. Show up before the show for a pre-screening reception starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Art lobby to meet with directors and fellow cinefiles. Stick around after the show for a Q&A session to be conducted with the filmmakers in the theatre. Keep the party going with further meeting and greeting at Mr. B’s Pub (215 S. Main Street – 2 blocks south of the Main Art Theatre) to end the night’s activities.

BITE ME – THE MOVIE [trailer] – DayDream Pictures (02:47) (Michigan) Directed by Kris Smith.

In the genre of horror comedy, “ Bite Me – The Movie” is a vampire flick set in the 80’s. It features a suave and cool Alexander Caleb – think Tom Cruise circa 1980 – who is a closet geek that plays Dungeons and Dragons and Nintendo outside the office. Alexander and his coworkers go up north for a weekend, but soon after, his coworkers start disappearing and turning into vampires. Alexander, with his geek-dom of knowledge, must thwart the evil attacking his coworkers, but he can’t let them know he's a geek by revealing the danger they're in! (This trailer is being screened again due to a rendering problem during the March Mitten Movie Project.)

THE SEPARATION ON STATE STREET [trailer] – Know Saint Productions (03:00) (Michigan) Directed by Rob St. Mary. "The Separation on State Street" follows Anonka, owner of Anonka’s Witch Museum and a self-proclaimed witch, and her family down a long, rough legal road where their fight for Constitutional rights, understanding and dialogue scrapes hard against the larger community that does not share her beliefs. In this feature documentary, Anonka poked a bee's nest when she inquired why a Nativity scene was allowed on the local courthouse lawn. What followed was a Constitutional argument regarding the separation of church and state. The film follows the court case from 2002 to 2005, documenting the local uproar and the political persecution Anonka faced in Caro, Michigan. KnowSaint.com

A SHADOW OVER MY BROTHERS: THE DIARY OF DANNY WEAVER [trailer] – Directed by Sean Rinna (02:22) (Michigan) Danny and his best friend, John, join the U.S. Airborne. Danny gets kicked out and John doesn’t know if he’ll see his best friend again. Later, Danny joins the infantry and becomes a lieutenant where he receives a mission to take a small squad and retrieve documents on a crashed C47. CLICKASS – Whitewood Films (06:21) (Michigan) Written and directed by Tommie Green. “ClickAss” is Green’s take on what would happen if Johnny Knoxville and the crew from MTV’s JackAss were combined with the remote from the Adam Sandler film, “Click.” (Thus, the title “ClickAss.”) The film was shot in one day in May 2007 in random locations in downtown Detroit. CONSCIENCE – Directed by Brian Camilleri (16:47)(Michigan) Written and directed by Brian Camilleri, and starring Kevin Nowak, Billy Whitehouse, Stephanie Arble, and Chris Auito. “Conscience” is a drama/thriller about a young man, David (Kevin Nowak), who is struggling to let go of his past. David's conscience (Billy Whitehouse) is begging him to stop wallowing in his misery, but David doesn't listen. This takes him down the path of torment. A BOY AND HIS BOMB – Written and directed by Jeremy Stefanski (11:57) (Michigan) Facing scrutiny from his peers, a young boy forms a bond with an unlikely source. When his lone ally and source of much contentment, is taken away from him, chaos ensues. He awakens to find himself the lone survivor after a startling turn of events. A SLOW AND STEADY DRIP - SuperHouse Pictures (22:00) (Michigan) Written and directed by Greg Morrison. "A Slow and Steady Drip" is about a businessman who takes a business trip, leaving his wife to deal with a leaky bathroom faucet. The leak serves as a metaphor for the issues in their marriage. The script for "A Slow and Steady Drip" originated from Project LightStand, a screenwriting incubation program.

BITCH – Directed by Lilah Vandenburgh (15:00) (New York) A tough girl with a predilection for quality vinyl and a hard jab soon finds herself falling for a jerk with poor social skills and bad taste in music.
