FRIDAYRed @ Harpo’s - The Nashville rock band is out touring behind their End Of Silence album and are getting ready to release their second album, out later this year. Meanwhile, their single for “Let Go” continues to get a lot of love from rock radio. Another rock radio up and comer, Cinder Road, opens the show. (Red also plays Saturday night at the Machine Shop in Flint) Tickets are $5 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com. SATURDAY The Vandals @ Magic Stick - The way old school punk band have stuck around the scene for the better part of the past two plus decades, paving the way for popular punk fare such as the Offspring and Green Day. The band is back on the road, perhaps getting new material ready while the band play their favorites for their hardcore following. Tickets are $13 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com Soil/Bobaflex @ Harpo’s - It seems that West Virginia’s Bobaflex may have more juice at radio right now, with their single “Home” climbing the charts as we speak. The band has toured relentlessly over the past year with their Welcome album resonating with fans. Once upon a time, Soil was going to be the next big thing in metal, until original singer Ryan McCombs split to join Drowning Pool. Might be one of those nights the support acts rules over the headliner. Tickets are $5 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com. Amp Fiddler @ The Crofoot - The popular Detroit electronic artist with leanings into funk, soul and R&B hits the road and gets his bearings straight most likely before the Movement fest later this year. Tickets are $15 and are available at www.ticketweb.com SUNDAY Blind Melon @ St. Andrew’s Hall - Wait? They’re back? Obviously, original lead singer Shannon Hoon isn’t around, but the band has a new lead singer in Travis Warren. The 90s hippie rockers resurfaced late last year and will be releasing a new album late in April. Obviously, fans of 90s alt-rock just cant move on, allowing a band like this to keep moving on. Tickets are $15 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com. . |
