I have been following
the journey of the film, Offshore. Offshore was filmed in the Detroit area and also partly in India. Offshore is a comedy-drama
that portrays the lives of people affected by one American company’s
efforts to outsource work to India. Offshore does an excellent job in showing both the American and Indian perspectives. The film is still being screened in various locations and is getting closer to regular distribution. This could mean a wide theatrical release or DVD distribution. The film was recently seen opening night film at the Atlanta Indo-American Film Festival on November 15th. Writer-director of Offshore, Diane Cheklich, was flown into the event for Q & A afterward. Efforts to release the film theatrically across India may come to fruition within the month. Another film produced by Diane Cheklich, Trap, is currently on DVD. Trap tells the story of two sets of husbands and wives and how getting out of some relationships can be murder. Consider purchasing Trap for the holidays for the lover of independent film, dramas or local films in your family or group of friends. Keep supporting local, independent film and watch here for more interesting film tidbits. . |
