FRIDAY
Babyface @ The Palace - The longtime R&B producer and balladeer is out touring behind his record Playlist. Expect a night of early and mid-90s soft rock tunes. Definitely one to take the ladies to.

Tickets range from $20 to $49.50 and are available at www.palacenet.com.

Chiodos and Devil Wears Prada @ Clutch Cargos - (See Spotlight Below).

Modest Mouse @ Masonic Temple - After playing Lollapalooza in Chicago and various locations around Detroit, Modest Mouse finally make their first proper Detroit show upon the release of the chart topping We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank. Issac Brock and company may have topped the charts, but there haven’t been too many cries of “sellout” on their way to glory, which is always a good band for indie bands gone big.

Tickets are $32.50 and are available at www.olympiaentertainment.com

Peter Bjorn & John @ Majestic Theatre - Don’t know the song “Young Folks?” Yes, you do. It’s the whistling song that invaded every single alternative station and was even remixed by Kanye West. But the rest of the group’s album is firmly entrenched in breezy indie rock and wont disappoint if “Young Folks” reeled you in.

Tickets are $20 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com.

Daryl Hall & John Oates @ Fox Theatre - Hall & Oates sing their early 80s soft rock classics, as well as new Christmas tunes that they are showing off. Make sure to hold me back from the Fox on this night.

Tickets range from $25 to $75 and are available at www.olympiaentertainment.com.

Evan’s Blue @ Machine Shop - After a September show at the Emerald Theatre, the Toronto based band had a strong Top 40 debut with their latest record, The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal Of Life Ends back in August. The first single “The Pursuit” has lit up rock radio and their art-rock appeals to both mainstream rock fans and others that are looking for more than the usual meat and potatoes, middle of the road stuff.

Tickets are $10 and are available at www.etix.com.

Bayside @ St. Andrew’s Hall - The New Jersey emo mainstays may be been a little under the weather for this year’s Warped Tour, but they gutted it out anyways. Still touring behind their solid “Walking Wounded” record, the band brings along June and the Sleeping along for the ride.

Tickets are $15 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com.
