ImageFeatured Event: JIM GAFFIGAN AT THE FOX THEATER - SAT. NOV. 17TH
Even if you can't place the name, you know who Jim Gaffigan is. The big white guy from the Sierra Mist commercials is bringing his signature deadpan to the Fox Theater this Saturday Nov. 17th as his stand up tour rolls through Detroit. Gaffigan is a series regular on the TBS show My Boys, which begins its third season this summer, and makes frequent appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien as an animated superhero. The Pale Force shorts star Gaffigan and O'Brien as a crime fighting duo with the superpower of paleness. Check them out at NBC.com and make sure to check out Gaffigan live in Detroit on Saturday.
Tickets are $39.75 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com

FRIDAY
Papa Roach @ Harpo's - The rock radio staples are still on the road behind their Paramour Sessions record, which was released all the way back in September 2006. P-Roach continues their string of radio hits such as “To Be Loved” and “Time Is Running Out” and brings it to Harpo's before the band heads back to the studio sometime next year.
Tickets are $20 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com.

SATURDAY
10 Years @ Machine Shop - The Tennessee rock band may not be the most inventive band in the rock bunch, but they seem to have grow a small cult following over the past few years. They are touring in preparation for their untitled second release, due out in early 2008.
Tickets are $12 and are available at www.etix.com

ImageFive Finger Death Punch @ The RitzMCB did an interview with lead singer Ivan Moody back in July before their show at Family Values. Their track “The Bleeding” continues to make noise on the rock charts and is now heading out on their own. Their album The Way of The Fist is a heavy and eerie record that definitely has its moments, but keeps things accessible enough for mainstream stardom.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.

From First To Last @ Magic Stick - Wes Borland put his seal of approval on this Florida based emo outfit. Their Heroine album was a pleasant surprise, but the band now has their work cut out for them on their second album. Losing lead singer Sonny Moore and being dropped by Capitol Records will make their battle in the emo melee a tough one.
Tickets are $12 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com

Michigan vs. Ohio State @ Michigan Stadium - What the hell else would you doing early on Saturday? Its about time the evil Scarlet & Grey empire lost (thank you Illinois) and ruined their national championship hopes. With any luck, Michigan will reverse their bad fortune from earlier this season, win the Big Ten title and deny Ohio State their glory like they used to do in the 90s. In fact, screw luck, Michigan has to do this and stop this dirty program.

Tickets are sold out. The game is on ABC at noon.

The Academy Is @ Clutch CargosWe interviewed this band before their big show with Fall Out Boy back in May. Now, as their Santi album is trying to break out, the Chicago band brings their friends in Cobra Starship and Armor For Sleep. The band has catchy music that transcends the sea of teenage girls who populate their shows.
Tickets are $22 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com
