ImageThe experimental Boston band The Receiving End of Sirens (Or TREOS if you don’t feel like getting tongue tied) was part of a solid bill that included Senses Fail and New Found Glory all bringing their controlled rage to a crowd of about 2,000 to the Fillmore.
In their brief five song, 30-minute set, the band dove into new material from their The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi record.
At first, most in the crowd thought that the people tuning the equipment before their set were the roadies, but in fact it was TREOS themselves getting ready for their set (hey, bands can still tune their own equipment- it happens) Battling sound issues initially, the band recovered quite quickly as they left their cultish fans wanting more than the short set allotted the band.
A seemingly drunk Buddy Nielsen lead Senses Fail through their hour long set. Nielsen always has a tendency to ramble on in a good natured sense, but you can tell when its good natured and brief, and when someone has hit the bottle probably since the early afternoon. Playing new tracks from their updated version of their Still Searching album such as “Battle Hymn,” Senses Fail delivered their usually solid set.
Long time punk-pop favorites New Found Glory headlined with an hour long set, with hits from their numerous albums and even included some new tracks from their From The Screen to Your Stereo record, in which the band dove into themes from The Karate Kid 2 and others that put a smile on most people’s faces. .
