FRIDAY Sammy Hagar & The Wabos @ Fox
Theatre - Even though David Lee Roth is shockingly back on stage with
the rest of Van Halen, the Red Rocker carries on with a fall tour.
Bypassing his usually highly successful summer shows at DTE Energy Music
Theatre, Hagar heads to the Fox for a two hour plus show full of
tequila shots and hits from his Van Halen and solo days. Fellow Van
Halen castoff Michael Anthony backs up Hagar in the show and if you
don’t wake up the next day with a hangover, you obviously
weren’t there.Tickets range from $36 to $75 and are available at www.olympiaentertainment.com.
Tickets are $20 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com. Keith Urban @ Palace of Auburn Hills - The tabloid fodder ridden Urban has gained more attention for his marriage to Nicole Kidman and his drinking than his music. Touring for his Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Thing, Urban brings his slicked up country sound to sure to be a full crowd. Tickets range from $37 to $57 and are available at www.palacenet.com. Bump @ Blind Pig - The Michigan based jam band continues their tour with a stop in Ann Arbor. The band’s sound is custom made for college aged students and will even please the prog-rock fans too. Hopefully, the fans in Ann Arbor are in a celebratory mood after the Michigan/Michigan State football game. Tickets are $7 and are available at the door. MONDAY Manchester Orchestra w/ The Annuals @ The Shelter - After a summer of touring around the world playing festivals such as Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo, as well as getting voted in for the UK's ATP vs. the Fans, ambitious Raleigh, NC six-piece Annuals arrive in Detroit with labelmates and
friends Manchester Orchestra. This tour is a particularly unique one for both bands, as Annuals and
Manchester Orchestra have recorded a one-of-a-kind split 7-inch,
covering the others' songs, to be sold exclusively at
their shows. Annuals cover Manchester Orchestra's "Where Have You
Been" and Manchester Orchestra cover Annuals "Brother." As a special
added bonus, the artwork for the 7-inch split features each band
reinterpreting the others' album cover.
