You can’t get much more metal than the names Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. Known as the “Big Four” of thrash metal in the 80s, the bands have moved in different directions of the years but always remained some level of popularity.

As you all know, Metallica went on to a Rock & Roll Hall Fame career; Slayer is more than due for the same honor and has maintained one of the most ravenous fanbases in music; Megadeth has had a storied career and have been re-energized on the past two albums; while Anthrax is in the midst of game of lead singer musical chairs.

Even though the bands may never come to terms on a massive tour that would have all four bands on the same bill in the States, the bands have agreed to play a series of festivals in Europe, where all four bands are on the same bill.

Even though American fans can’t see this in person (unless you can afford to flip for a trip to a European festival), those fans will get a chance to see these bands from the comfort of a movie screens. The Big Four will be playing a show on June 22nd in Bulgaria as part of the Sonisphere Festival that can be seen on movie screens that evening across the U.S.

For Detroit fans you have one of two locations to check this special experience out: the AMC Livonia 20 and the Regal Theaters in Commerce Township.

Make sure to be there by 7 p.m., and be prepared to see one of the greatest metal moments you may never get to see in person.

Tickets for the Big Four Live are available at www.thebigfourlive.com for the June 22nd showing.
