To say that Good Old War has relentlessly toured the Detroit area in the past year might be an understatement. After numerous dates in the different venues of the Crofoot Ballroom, the Philadelphia based band makes their way back to Detroit on the start of a 10-week tour with Yukon Blonde and Audra Mae.

The trio of Keith Goodwin (vocals/guitar), Dan Schwartz (guitar/vocals) and Tim Arnold (drums) delivered their folk leaning indie rock ways with the debut, 2008’s Only Way To Be Alone and crisscrossed the country, developing a growing legion of fans. Now the band is gearing up to release their self-titled sophomore release, which is set for a June 1st release. If you can’t wait until June 1st, check out the album’s first single “My Own Sinking Ship,” which is available for download now.

Though it seems like the band is always touring, this tour behind the new album will prove to be one of their longest to date, with dates currently lasting through August 1st. So, make sure to hear the new songs before the rest of the country as Good Old War heads into downtown Detroit for a May 26th date at the Magic Stick.

Good Old War play at the Magic Stick on Wednesday, May 26th. Tickets are $8 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com. Additional dates and band info can be found at www.myspace.com/goodoldwar.
