Meatwad & Shake Back For The First Time

It really took this long to get Aqua Teen on tour?

Since its inception back in 2008, Adult Swim’s “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” has been one of the longest running and most popular shows on the network. The tale of Master Shake, Meatwad and the always hairy and swarthy Carl end up a late night laugh riot that is always insane, but never stale for material. People thought the series might end after the show hit the big screen in 2007, but the show has kept going strong since.

Even though it was considered a risky move, Adult Swim saw major success with putting another group of animated crazies on tour together when Dethklok was given the live stage treatment. So, in the wake of that success, Adult Swim have given “Aqua Teen” its own live show, in which saying it’s long overdue is an understatement.

The live show, which runs through May 15th, will be a mixture of live clips from the show, skits, and a live set which will showcase the group’s Christmas influenced album “Have Yourself a Meaty Little Christmas”. The revue will hit Detroit this Saturday, May 1st, as creators Dave Willis and Dana Snyder bring their always bizarre humor to St. Andrew’s Hall.

So, if you are in the mood to see Master Shake try and fit through a door or Carl tell some random story about some crappy 80’s rock band, here’s your chance.

The Aqua Teen Hunger Force live show is this Saturday, May 1st at St. Andrew’s Hall. Tickets are $25 and are available at www.livenation.com. Additional info on the TV show and live can be found at www.athflive.com.
